Woodridge Police: Man Tried to Lure Nine-Year-Old Girl into Car

Police are investigating an incident that reportedly occurred on Friday at 1:25 p.m. in the 6400 block of Macarthur Drive in Woodridge.

A man in his mid-20s driving a sedan approached a nine-year-old girl walking her dog on the 6400 block of Macarthur Drive in Woodridge on Friday afternoon and told her to get into the car if she wanted some candy, Woodridge Police are reporting.

According to the report, the girl instantly ran away to her babysitter's house nearby. The incident, which occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. (April 26), was also witnessed by another adult resident.

Police are investigating the suspicious incident.

The man was described as driving an older-model Gold Chevrolet sedan.

"If a vehicle matching that description is observed in the area, please contact the Woodridge Police immediately by dialing 911," the police release said. "The Woodridge Police reminds all residents to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods."
