See who made the list. Police and public work employees have already been separated in previous lists.

Salary and benefit information for public employees is public record. We post this information because we think it will be of interest to our readers, many of whom are Woodridge residents and taxpayers who foot the bill.

We have already posted:

Keep in mind, the village of Woodridge includes the Woodridge Police Department and Woodridge Public Works Department. However, we separated police and public works from the overall village list for this feature. The list below was taken out of village employees, not including police and public works officials.

The following FY2011 (fiscal year end 2011) salary information for the remaining village officials was obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.

I really dislike these types of non stories. I think it's completely irresponsible to post the salaries of these public employees without a counter-weight to the story. Have you listed the benefits these individuals bring to the village? Have you documented and shared how some of these employees have saved the village money, kept it more safe or made a real impact on someone's life (like a teacher or a police officer?) Where are those profiles? Printing these without comment is an invitation for criticism against people who very well could be doing a terrific job for this community. FYI, I don't work for the village or in any public position.

Thanks for the reporting. It is always good to see where our money goes. For the most part these are not extravagant salaries, if these people were working in the private sector they'd be commanding more money than they're earning here. A big thanks to those employees who could earn more elsewhere, but are dedicated to working in the public sector.

You know for a fact these people would make more in the private sector. Are you sure they would have a job, nowadays, in the private sector?

Looks like about $2,000,000 in tax dollars per year tied up in the 20 highest paid employees. $106,000 for a Golf Superintendent...really? I'll sell golf balls and mow the grass for $60,000. What about pensions...are they paid by employees or are tax dllars used to pay for that too?

I was merely saying that their comparable jobs in the private sector pay more. The number of job losses in the private sector due to the economy was also felt in the public sector. As a percentage the number of job losses was equal in both public and private sectors.
