Candidate Questions

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I view this as the continuation of community service I have always been involved in but from a better position to get things done.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

I don't think I can give a single priority. Many areas need to be addressed and they all need to work together.

If your race is contested, what sets you apart from the other candidates?

I have been a leader, successfully leading different organizations. I have not only volunteered in many areas of the community but have also developed and implemented various programs that have helped make Woodridge a better place to live.

What do you think are the top 3 goals for the Village of Woodridge?

Maintain a fiscally responsible budget, looking to cut expenses when necessary and find new sources of revenue to replace shrinking state resources while at the same time keeping services at the level residents have come to expect.

Actively look to develop/redevelop all of our business areas and make sure Woodridge is known as a good partner for business.

Work closely with the other taxing bodies in Woodridge to see where we can share resources, cut expenses and work together to lower the property taxes we pay.

What are some ways to promote economic development in the village?

Develop a plan to use the money currently sitting in the bank collected from the home rule sales tax. Make sure we let businesses know about all the benefits of locating in Woodridge - Location, housing, workforce, parks, etc. Make it easier to do business in town - make sure our goal is to get a business open with the least amount of red tape possible.

Are there any new services or programs Woodridge should try to offer?

I want to take the Community Resource Center and, working together with the Park District, School Districts, business community and other groups form the Woodridge Youth Commission. I want to offer more programming to out youth - without spending more in tax dollars to do it.

Is there any other information pertinent to your campaign that you would like to add?

I have a campaign video that can be viewed here - http://youtu.be/ozApx7pD95Y
