Bradley Launches Write-In Campaign to Challenge Radogno

Lemont resident Duane Bradley says he will run in the March 20 Republican primary as a write-in candidate after being removed from the ballot.

resident Duane Bradley will run as a write-in candidate in the March 20 Republican primary for the 41st Illinois Senate District after being removed from the ballot Jan. 9.

Bradley told Patch on Tuesday that he has filed the necessary paperwork to run as a write-in candidate in Will, DuPage and Cook counties, according to the report. He is challenging Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) in the 41st District, which covers Burr Ridge, Darien, Downers Grove, Homer Glen, Indian Head Park, LaGrange, Lemont, Lisle, Naperville, Western Springs, Willowbrook and Woodridge.

According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, Bradley was removed from the ballot after the state's electoral board sustained an  by Homer Township Highway Commissioner Michael DeVivo.

The objection claimed Bradley had only 300 of the required 1,000 signatures before the Dec. 5 filing deadline, according to Rupert Borgsmiller, executive director of the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Bradley, a retired financial manager, unsuccessfully ran for a seat on the Board of Education earlier this year. He has previously served as a member of the Bromberek School District Board of Education, according to the he supplied Patch in March.

Radogno has served in the Illinois Senate since 1997, and has represented the 41st District since 2003. She is currently serving her second term as the leader of the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus.

This makes no sense. Bradley either 1) can't count -- submitting his nominating papers with 700 fewer signatures than needed, 2) can't read instructions or 3) purposely tried to skirt the rules to get on the ballot. Conduct that doesn't give a very good testament as to why he should hold public office. The guy came in dead last in a local SB election why does he think he can and should be elected to represent the 41st district? Bradley just like the other plaintiffs on the lawsuit are complete fools who are wasting taxpayer monies to stroke their egos while they continue to bring a black mark on Lemont. More nonsense from the Tea Party clowns.
