Traffic Delays Expected for Drivers Near Lisle Train Station Tunnel, Main Street Underpass

Construction on both began Monday.

Darien and Woodridge drivers traveling through Lisle can expect some delays near the village's commuter train station.

On Monday, maintenance work began on the commuter station's underground pedestrian tunnel as well as the Main Street railroad underpass, which is located between Burlington Avenue and Front Street.

Both restoration projects include the removal and replacement of deteriorated tunnel ceiling panels.

Officials said work should be complete by the end of August.

Officials said the traveling public should expect some delays in this area during the work, however, tunnels will remain open to pedestrian traffic.
