Trustee Pittinger to Resign from Woodridge Village Board

For the second time in just a couple of months, the Village of Woodridge will have to name a replacement trustee to a two-year term.

Woodridge Trustee David Pittinger announced on Thursday his intention to resign from the Village Board, saying that he and his family are moving away from Illinois, the Suburban Life reports.

"I appreciate all the team work and collaboration we've had on the board," the paper quoted Pittinger saying at the meeting. "One of the things I found to be impressive when I first got on the board was the staff here at the Village of Woodridge is very professional and it's been a pleasure working with everybody in the staff as well as everyone on the board.

"Thanks for making that a good experience."

Pittinger's last meeting will be Aug. 8; a new trustee will be appointed to serve his remaining two years, the paper said.

The announcement comes less than a month after the appointment of Mary Anne Blair to the Board. Blair is serving in replacement of former trustee-elect Susan Burtnette, who passed away in May two weeks after being elected.

According to the Village website, Pittinger, a father of four, "has lived most of his life here in Woodridge," attending District 68 and District 99 schools, College of DuPage and Benedictine University, as well as marrying his wife at Woodridge's own St. Scholastica Church.
