Two Medical Organizations Endorse Ron Sandack

Sandack is a Republican candidate for state representative of the 81st House District.

The Illinois State Medical Society Political Action Committee (IMPAC) and the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nursing Association (ISAPN) have endorsed Ron Sandack for State Representative in the 81st House District.

“Ron Sandack has an impressive political pedigree,” IMPAC wrote in a letter to medical professionals in the 81st House District, according to a campaign press release.

“Over the past year in Springfield, Ron Sandack has built a record of supporting physicians and our patients. He currently serves as the minority spokesperson on the Licensed Activities Committee. In that capacity he studies and votes on countless bills that regulate the practice of all healthcare professionals in the state of Illinois.”

ISAPN also sent a letter in support of Ron Sandack, targeting nurses in the 81st district. “Ron has been a vital legislator for protecting the nursing community. As a member of the Licensed Activities Committee he has advocated on our behalf and defeated legislation that would have been detrimental to nurses inIllinois.”

“I’m thankful to both of these respected organizations for support, and I pledge to continue to support our medical professionals in Illinois,” Sandack said in the press release. “We must strengthen the doctor/patient relationship while enhancing patient safety and increasing access to quality care.”

Sandack began serving as a village commissioner for Downers Grove in 2003 and was elected mayor in 2007. He currently serves as a state senator for the 21st district, having been appointed last fall to replace Dan Cronin, who was elected DuPage County Board Chairman.

Also running for the 81st District Republican nomination is , who currently serves as the vice president of the  school board.

Including parts of Downers Grove, Darien, Lisle, , Westmont and Naperville, the 81st district constitutes half of the previous 47th district. Patricia Bellock, who currently serves the 47th district, has decided not to run for the 81st, so there is no incumbent candidate.
