Two Medical Organizations Endorse Ron Sandack

Sandack is a Republican candidate for state representative of the 81st House District.

The Illinois State Medical Society Political Action Committee (IMPAC) and the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nursing Association (ISAPN) have endorsed Ron Sandack for State Representative in the 81st House District.

“Ron Sandack has an impressive political pedigree,” IMPAC wrote in a letter to medical professionals in the 81st House District, according to a campaign press release.

“Over the past year in Springfield, Ron Sandack has built a record of supporting physicians and our patients. He currently serves as the minority spokesperson on the Licensed Activities Committee. In that capacity he studies and votes on countless bills that regulate the practice of all healthcare professionals in the state of Illinois.”

ISAPN also sent a letter in support of Ron Sandack, targeting nurses in the 81st district. “Ron has been a vital legislator for protecting the nursing community. As a member of the Licensed Activities Committee he has advocated on our behalf and defeated legislation that would have been detrimental to nurses inIllinois.”

“I’m thankful to both of these respected organizations for support, and I pledge to continue to support our medical professionals in Illinois,” Sandack said in the press release. “We must strengthen the doctor/patient relationship while enhancing patient safety and increasing access to quality care.”

Sandack began serving as a village commissioner for Downers Grove in 2003 and was elected mayor in 2007. He currently serves as a state senator for the 21st district, having been appointed last fall to replace Dan Cronin, who was elected DuPage County Board Chairman.

Also running for the 81st District Republican nomination is , who currently serves as the vice president of the  school board.

Including parts of Downers Grove, Darien, Lisle, , Westmont and Naperville, the 81st district constitutes half of the previous 47th district. Patricia Bellock, who currently serves the 47th district, has decided not to run for the 81st, so there is no incumbent candidate.

You can find a full list of those who have endorsed Sandack here, including:

  • Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford
  • House Minority Leader Tom Cross
  • Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno
  • Government reformer Adam Andrzejewski
  • DuPage County Board Chair Dan Cronin
  • State Senator Kirk Dillard
  • State Senator John Millner
  • State Rep Jim Durkin
  • State Rep Michael Connelly
  • Stand For Children
  • For the Good of Illinois PAC
  • Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce PAC
  • DuPage Conservatives

Bob, The sad thing is you are right. We are unlikely to change anyone's minds here other than to temper voters who are sick of hearing us bicker. Frankly, I think it's the same 10 of 15 passionate people back and forth. I also think all of us decided long ago how we would vote. I'm happy to end it here but I refuse to stand idly by while others attack Ron with misleading information. If the attacks continue, I will respond. Here's a crazy idea, let's have a fact based discussion. We can even go so far as to debate the values of the two candidates. Beyond that, I think we are just wasting each other's time.
Lee March 16, 2012 at 02:04 AM
I think I'll be able to change Jeffrey Crane's mind by Tuesday morning.
Eileen Kenah March 16, 2012 at 02:06 AM
I love the "If we have met, I can easily find out who you are".I know I am going to a low level here but I just find that comment too humorous. Do you video tape every person you meet? . It sounds like UoCDoc gave you enough info to find out who he is.

Lee really drank whole lot of the Orange Kool aid tonight! How many Teamster Ron bobbleheads were given away? Did Jimmy or at least Mr.Coli show up?
AC March 16, 2012 at 02:48 AM
I saw Jimmy leaving but they gave away all the bobbleheads already. Time to check eBay. Autographed for an endorsement. Maybe Eileen will give me hers as a house warming gift. Off to Vegas Thomas does the Stardust have any rooms available.
Eileen Kenah March 16, 2012 at 03:03 AM
Sorry AC. I have been at home in my PJ's cleaning my house. No need ti attend anyway. Ron already has my vot. By the way, The teamster mailer seems to have backfired. I know someone who thought Debbie was pro-union and even had her sign in their yard. The sign is no longer up. Haven't talked to them about it but I am guessing it is at least 2 votes lost.

The Heat is on! Lol TRR is on the run...TEAMSTER RINO RON that is...please tell us why you needed to get so much $ from your PAC's? Are they afraid because the Heat is On! Your camp is not discussing polls...I wonder why? Signs don't tell the whole story and that story is spreading throughout the district. You can't snatch everybody's body, mind and soul- lol! I think to even attempt to discuss politics with any of you is a joke. You have all bought into sticking with the way its always been done mentality. The pathetic pay to play attitude of all these SIGs and Pacs make want to puke! But that's your guy and keep him. If he wins, I will withhold from voting for him in the general on principle. No RINO will get my vote and you all know he fits the label. I know this will piss you all off but too_______bad! We have to start somewhere with Illinois, the cesspool craphole of the nation! Ron just another out to advance his career even if he had to take one step back. You are just pawns and foot soldiers. TRR will need to payback those contributors and there are many! Something to sleep on DOC, Don, Lee, Frank and the rest, Rewards will be in Springfield and you all live in DG.
Shelly Frank March 16, 2012 at 04:08 AM
My family voted for Ron and we are proud to call him a Friend. Thanks for all that you do for us Ron. I cannot wait until Tuesday night when you Kick Boyle/Krajewski's ass again!! Wednesday morning Patch will be a thing of the past along with Elaine Johnson just like the DG Report is a thing of the past! You make us so proud.

If I may interject here, I was wondering more about pension reform. I still don't understand why there is a need for ANY pensions. Honestly, I think the reform should be too bad so sad we can't afford it! You will now have to invest in your own futures without riding on the backs of taxpayers. It boggles my mind to think that a government would allow itself to be squeezed by a bunch of thugs who suck us dry! How do we get un/underfunded pensions? What do unions and their pensions, bonuses and packages do to corporations? Let's see, I think they drive the price of the products up. Those prices get passed on to the consumer---you and me. So we pay high prices and then also get taxed for their pensions? Also, what do the unions expect from the candidates they support? Well, I would imagine, to be pro-union of course and to vote accordingly! Sort of like this article states....http://articles.boston.com/2011-04-27/news/29479557_1_unions-object-labor-unions-health-care. The unions threatened the legislators that they will lose their support if they don't vote in their favor. This goes to what has been said on these blogs. What do the endorsements and supporters want in return? I am suspicious of the amount of money being thrown at RS when he has only been in the Senate since November 30, 2010. A year and a half and he is this well known and people are so confident in his skills? Dare I say it, could Cronin be To Ron what you all say Brian is to Debbie???? Hmmmm

To suggest that a lawsuit is called for is questionable. This is politics and it has and probably always will be a dirty thing. Jeff has no intention to defame or slander anyone. Hence, the links to back his comments. Otherwise, they are his opinions and how he sees and interprets those opinions. Just like those people who question Obamas birth certificate. They have no real proof either way. Their not trying to hurt Obama. The title of this article should prove my point..http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57388911-503544/sheriff-joe-arpaio-suggests-obamas-birth-certificate-is-a-forgery/. SUGGESTS being the word to look at. People have spun things to appear other than they really might be for as long as I can remember. The media does it everyday. There have been a lot of mud slinging from all angles here. To say that you hope someone sues Jeff is terrible. What kind of world will this be if you encourage someone to sue another person for their views of them politically? Everyday, I go to work and hear someone speak ill of another person. Should we sue because someone on here said that we had caused a physical altercation at coffee with council when it never occurred? There are no reports that I am aware of. It is strictly hearsay and meant to hurt us! This is a political race and no one will be loosing financially because of the banter back and forth. The only thing injured will be egos.
Melanie C March 16, 2012 at 05:02 AM
And perhaps she gained 2 more because of this! It works both ways!
Melanie C March 16, 2012 at 05:06 AM
Tessa, This is a very mean thing to say. What do you mean by this comment? Doesn't Ms. Bowen matter?
Melanie C March 16, 2012 at 05:09 AM
Elaine Johnson is a good person. So to suggest that she needs to disappear is rude! She has been the only one to stay on the high road. She speaks from experience and wrote a neutral article. Even Lee Andreatta gave her credit for that! Yes, thanks for all that you do for us Ron. Especially the four placeholders you have left for us on the council. Things will only get done in this town if they and or you allow it. They have the majority and have made it evident that they hold the cards more often than not. Thanks for ridding us of the fun heritage fest and bike races. You make us so proud:)

OK Melanie -- you just said that you don't understand the pension debate. Wow -- this is a bit late in the game for Pension 101.! I have always found both you and Jeff to be unencumbered by the facts. Hope I can help you understand. The simple point is that PRIVATE pensions are funded by PRIVATE organizations. If they are underfunded or unfunded, those pensions are insolvent and we have no obligation to pay them. Melanie , you seem inclined to ensure that there are NO pensions. That is certainly a radical and liberal point of view that may not agree with PRIVATE employers.. The PUBLIC issue is about how we fund PUBLIC pensions (teachers, state, municipal etc) which are grossly underfunded in the State of Illinois (the State took the money for other things). These obligations do not disappear because you or anyone else declares that you are conservatives and will not pay them. The legal obligations exist. We can also work to ensure that our future pension obligations are aligned with the rest of the world. On current obligations, we will lose in any Court challenge if we try to reduce them.
Jeffrey Crane March 16, 2012 at 12:04 PM
Don: You come on here like you are so well informed. We are not at all impressed with you or your supposed intellect. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. You seen rather sensitive. There have been numerous "contracts" broken with the taxpayer for decades. Are there any contracts that must be upheld to the taxpayer or are we always the last cash reserve of last resort. If you want a pension, then save like I do and have some responsibility. Yes, the state, as usual, spent money on other things instead of responsibly funding those pensions. A loss is a loss and should not be guaranteed by the taxpayer. Government doesn't produce anything or generate revenue, all they do is suck resources out of the economy. Complements of the federal government through a bailout, GM stock holders lost everything, but union benefits remain in tact, that is PRIVATE sector government intervention. Again, the investor and the american taxpayer lose. Pension 101 is to save your money and stop spending more than you can afford. Please do not insult us with the "legal obligation" lecture. We, as a state, are broke mister.

"It is important that you got this wrong, because it shows a significant understanding deficit. Not only is Ron not a Teamster, he is on such a panel specifically for his non-Teamster view. Deb, this means you kind of got this 180 degrees wrong. " "So, Deb Boyle, on this St Patrick's day eve I have the sad duty to report that, in nursing terms, your assessment skills need a refresher. The patient walked in, you took one look, and you called him a Teamster, when in fact he is an attorney representing job creators." http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2012/03/deb-boyle-moon-made-of-green-cheese-sandack-a-teamster.html

Paul, for once, I agree with you on something. IR is a cesspool. But, it's a cesspool of hard-ass conservatives who wouldn't piss on a burning Democrat. You see, those IR guys are real GOP. Not the mainstream FOX news spoon fed like yourself. They don't cut deals with Madigan, they don't take part in business as usual and they don't back anyone who does. That is the IR cesspool. It looks like Senator Sandack is their candidate.

Don, I NEVER said that I don't understand the pension debate! Please re-read my post. I don't agree that someone's future should be hinged upon taxpayers who are also trying to secure their futures. Don't you agree that private institutions have to get the money from somewhere? Do you believe that they may make up for the loss of money due to these obligations by increasing prices for their goods and services? I would bet they don't just do it out of the kindness of their hearts. I agree that it is a contract and should not be broken. However, when you purchase a home you are making a contract with a bank/lender to purchase that home. Maybe you haven't noticed how many individuals (able to pay and not able to pay) walked away from their contracts!! I am not against meeting all the money/life sucking contracts made up to this point. I don't think that anymore should be made though. Take Bernie Madoff. He took money from people who were looking to invest in their futures with increased cash flow. Those people took a risk and it turned out bad, really, really, bad. Do you think you (taxpayer) should be on the hook for Bernie's bad behavior? Why should we (taxpayers) be on the hook for a state squandering the money they were entrusted to take care of for their contracts? Please continue to school me, Don. I anxiously await Pension 102!
