Two Newcomers, Two Incumbents Elected to District 68 Board of Education

Patti Cash, Scott Coley, Leslie Pollack and Scott Salerno were elected to the board in Tuesday's election.

Two new faces and two familiar ones were elected to the District 68 Board of Education Tuesday night.

Incumbent Leslie Pollack led the candidates with 1,098 votes in DuPage County. Newcomer Patti Cash followed in a close second with 1,084 votes. After Cash, newcomer Salerno took third with 1,035. Incumbent Scott Coley took fourth with 904 votes.

Jeff Gaspar, came in fifth with 828 votes and was not elected to the board.

Cash, Coley, Pollack and Salerno were elected amidst lower than average voter turnout in Woodridge. Election judges said 5 to 10 percent of registered voters showed up to the polls at various locations around the village.

The new board of education will be installed at the next school board meeting. At that time, the board will also elect a new president and vice president.
