Village of Woodridge Wants Your Input on Town Centre Improvements

The government campus area is set to be updated in a yet unspecified way; residents will have their first chance to discuss plans at a workshop in late May.

The Village of Woodridge will begin seeking input in late May for how an approximately $50,000 budget should be spent to improve the Village's Town Centre area, including the 44 acres of open space west of Village Hall, the Chicago Tribune reports.

According to the paper, a community workshop is set for May 29 at 7 p.m. at the Woodridge Park District Community Center. Plans for the improvement have been on ice for six years while the status of the 44 acres was under litigation.

"Now that the property has been acquired by the village and park district, the prior commitment to the community to give them an opportunity to provide input on how this land should be used for civic, open space and recreational uses can now be fulfilled," Jack Knight, management analyst/deputy village clerk, told the paper.
