Walgreens to Expand Liquor Selection

The store is currently allowed to sell just beer and wine.

will soon offer more than wine and beer in its alcohol line-up. 

Walgreens, 2501 75th St., received the approval for a Class B-1 Liquor License Jan. 26 from the village board, which permits the retail sale of "alcoholic liquor." 

Walgreens previously had a Class B-2 Liquor License, which permits the retail sale of beer and wine.

The village clerk's office received a written request from Walgreens to approve the Class B-1 liquor license, according to village documents.

The request came as an effort to expand their adult beverage offering and was in response to customer requests, according to the village.
