Woodridge Drive Being Re-Paved from Hobson Road to Center Drive

The project, which also includes patching pavement and fixing curbs and sidewalks, will take up to five weeks to complete.

Construction work has started to re-pave Woodridge Drive from Hobson Road to Center Drive.

The project will cost $378,000, with $119,900 being funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, according to the village. Another $185,000 is being funded through an Emergency Repair Program grant through IDOT.

The project will include curb and sidewalk repairs where needed, pavement patching and the removal and replacement of the street surface. Driveways damaged during the work will also be repaired.

If you live in the area, you may lose access to your driveway for about a week to let the concrete cure. When this happens, you will be able to park on the street overnight without calling police to alert them.

These special notes are from an e-mail sent out to village residents regarding the road work:

Special notes:

  • The work is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of April 4th and take up to five weeks to complete.  Factors such as weather and unforeseen problems make it difficult to give you an exact date when the contractor will be performing a particular task adjacent to your home and when the project will be complete.
  • As with any resurfacing project, before the placement of the new asphalt surface the Contractor will spray a “tacky” oil based substance called prime.  Immediately before this work, the Contractor will erect “Fresh Oil” signs.  However, should you not see the signs and the roadway appears freshly oiled, we would encourage you to proceed very slowly as prime material is quite adherent to vehicles and clothing.
  • Please have your garbage; recyclables and yard waste out at the curb by 7 a.m. on your scheduled pick-up day so that they may send a truck through before any heavy construction begins for the day.  Your patience and cooperation is appreciated.
