Chicago Bears defensive end Corey Wootton paid a visit to Downers Grove North High School on Monday to chat with marketing students about his experience in the NFL.

Wootton, 25, was a guest speaker in North High's sports and entertainment marketing classes, which apply marketing and communications principles to college and professional sports, as well as the movie and music industries.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Wootton shared with students the keys to his success in the NFL.

He was accompanied by his agent, Mike McCartney, who offered tips for students interested in pursuing careers in sports marketing.

I am all Bears on Sunday (and Saturday, and Wednesday...to my wife's chagrin) but Kasik is the guy we have to push. He gets my vote for keeping North High students hanging around the top 20 in public high schools in the state. For purely venal reasons, but it couldn't hurt the kids either, I'd like to see that move up to top ten. Hinsdale and Naperville and Lisle ahead of Downers Grove? Let's get these kids on a crash course to learn how to write and how to do lights-out math. You're doing a good job, Kasik. All Pro. But we want a Super Bowl.
