District 41 to Conduct Security Audit After Students Viewed Porn at School

Incidents of students viewing porn at school came to light in April after a parent called the Forest Glen Elementary School principal, according to the Chicago Tribune.

In light of recent incidents involving Forest Glen Elementary students who viewed pornographic materials on school computers, Glen Ellyn School District 41 will conduct a security audit of its computer system this summer, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The Chicago Tribune reports that while in class, a fifth-grade student "spent several minutes viewing sexually explicit material while a fourth-grader was watching" and as a result of an investigation by school officials, two fifth-grade students and one fourth-grade student was disciplined.

During a recent District 41 school board meeting, several parents expressed concern over the students gaining access to the pornographic sites and asked the school district to take steps to prevent it from happening in the future, the newspaper reports.
