District 68 Sees Improvements in Bus Service Wednesday

District officials said two-thirds of its routes were on time or between 5-10 minutes late.

Wednesday was the best in terms of bus service for the week, officials said, and the best day since school started last Wednesday.

About two-thirds of bus routes were on time or had a delay of five to 10 minutes, according to Patrick Broncato, assistant superintendent of personnel for the district. A third of bus routes had a delay of more than 10 minutes.

There were also some occasional missed pick-ups.

Broncato said staff would continue to monitor routes of greater concern but fewer district employees would be on buses or following routes than the past two days.

Jill Browning, communications director for , said she had heard mixed reviews and would update the district website with more information once she heard about the afternoon buses.
