District 99 Receives Certificate of Excellence Award in Financial Reporting

The award is given to school systems that have met or exceeded the stringent standards set forth by ASBO, a professional association of over 5,000 members that promotes high standards of school business management practices.

has received the Certificate of Excellence Award in financial reporting from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International.

The award is given to school systems that have met or exceeded the stringent standards set forth by ASBO, a professional association of over 5,000 members that promotes high standards of school business management practices. It is the 12th consecutive year that the district has received the award.

District 99 was specifically recognized for its high quality Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending 2010. The outside recognition is one indication of District 99’s commitment to financial accountability and transparency.

“This type of outside recognition from an international organization proves how well our district is run behind the scenes,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark McDonald. “People in our community should know what high quality professionals we have working here.”

The Office of Business Services at District 99 includes Controller Mark Staehlin, Accountant Karen Seaton, Jill Tomanich in accounts payable, Linda Britton in payroll and Linda Neiman, assistant. Others instrumental to the process include Kim Hale, Purchasing, as well as Wendi Andree and Terri Stadtler, both in Human Resources.
