Downers Grove North Senior Named National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar

Kevin Brinkman was recognized as one of nearly 5,000 outstanding Hispanic/Latino students for the 2012-13 school year.

senior Kevin Brinkman has been recognized by the 2012-13 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) for his outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test during his junior year..

Each year, the program selects nearly 5,000 NHRP outstanding Hispanic/Latino students as NHRP Scholars from a pool of more than 250,000 who identified themselves as Hispanic, according to district officials.

Although the NHRP does not provide a financial reward, being named is an important academic recognition that automatically alerts subscribing colleges and universities that are particularly interested in academically outstanding seniors of Hispanic/Latino heritage.
