Downers Grove North, South Students Win D99 Art Show Awards

Check out the students' artwork at the Woodridge Public Library until April 23.

Seventeen were chosen the best in their art mediums at the District 99 art show at the . 

More than 100 students are highlighted in the show, which is available for public viewing until April 21. 

The library art show began in 2008 after a committe of schools, park district, and government agencies officials met.

"The visual art teams at and believe that finding a public venue to showcase student work is an essential element of a strong visual art program," said DGS Fine Arts Department Chair Glenn Williams. 

"The collaboration between South, North and the Village of Woodridge is producing fabulous benefits for students, and, for the community at large."

Both Downers Grove North and Downers Grove South each submitted eight pieces in multiple media categories. The student work was then evaluated and ranked, producing a 3D best in show, a 2D best in show, and a top winner in each category.
