will offer breakfast at all seven district schools, starting with the 2012-2013 school year.
The breakfast program will be available to all students and operate just like the lunch program. Students who qualify for free and reduced lunches will also qualify for the breakfast program, with no additional paperwork required.
Breakfast will be served in the same location as lunch starting at 8 a.m. through the start of class. The cost for breakfast will be $1.75 for full price students and $0.30 for reduced priced students. Detailed program information and menus can be found on the district website at www.woodridge68.org.
The program was started because studies show that children who eat breakfast on a regular basis are at an educational, physical, and emotional advantage over those who do not. Being part of the National School Lunch Program, breakfast must meet the USDA’s guidelines for nutrition. Parents can be confident that their child’s meal will provide the fuel necessary for learning and a good start to their day.
Woodridge School District 68 serves around 3,000 students in kindergarten through eighth grade by providing a comprehensive educational foundation for all children in a safe, caring environment, preparing them to be productive, responsible, and successful members of society.
