DGS Girls Cross Country Takes 2nd at Regionals

The team will compete in the sectional meet next week in Lockport.

The Girls Cross Country team placed second at Saturday's IHSA Regional meet and will advance to next week's sectional.

Host school Lyons Township scored 35 points to win the 9-team qualifying meet. DGS scored 46 points.  was third with 70 points.

Freshman, Amanda Thate, led the Mustangs with her third place finish. Katie Strelau was seventh, Amy Rotunno was 10th, Jordyn Baylark-Rasul was 11th, Cara Wicklein was 15th, Katrina Friedrich 16th and Jacquelyn Thate was 17th in a great team effort.

DGS advances the entire team to next week's sectional meet at Dellwood Park in Lockport.
