DGS Girls Cross Country Wins Naperville Invitational
The team beat three others ranked in the top 10 in the state.
The Girls Cross Country team took first place at the 12-team Naperville Invitational on Friday at the DuPage River Park.
It was a solid win over three other teams ranked in the top 10 in the state.
Three Mustangs placed in the top 10. Freshman Amanda Thate placed second overall. Senior Jacquelyn Thate and Junior Katie Strelau placed nineth and 10th respectively. Junior Amy Rotunno and Junior Katrina Friedrich rounded out the varsity scorers.
The Frosh-Soph and JV teams also had strong showings with top 10 finishes by Sophomore Meredith Robinson, Freshman Abby Kargol in the F/S race, and Seniors Cara Wicklein, Maddie Cahill and Rebecca Stearns in the JV race.
