Blindfolded Woodridge Police, Lions Club to Play Visually Impaired Baseball Team

The Chicago Comets is a group of blind and visually impaired athletes from the Chicagoland area who love to play baseball. The Comets are members of the National Beep Baseball Association (NBBA) and compete against other NBBA teams from all over the country. In 2003, they won the World Series of Beep Baseball.

Beep Baseball is a version of conventional baseball that has been adopted to allow visually impaired athletes to compete. Beep baseball uses 16″ softballs that beep and 4′ tall bases that buzz to allow blind and visually impaired athletes to play.

In their exhibition games, the Comets play against teams of sighted individuals who wear blindfolds and try to play and experience Beep Baseball firsthand.

No pun intended, but you have to see a "Beep" baseball game to believe just how challenging and how much fun it can be!
