Music Lineup, Details Released for Woodridge Jubilee

The following is a press release from the Woodridge Park District:

Woodridge’s largest special event, the Woodridge Jubilee, will run Wednesday, June 12 through Sunday, June 16. The free event features entertainment, food vendors and a beer tent Thursday through Saturday evenings, a carnival Wednesday through Sunday and fireworks on Saturday evening.

This summer’s entertainment lineup features a variety of music genres. Thursday night will feature the rock cover band, CoverGurl at 6:30 p.m., followed by the R & B band, Wayne Baker Brooks at 8:30 p.m. Friday night will feature On the House Band, country/pop-rock band at 7:00 p.m., followed by The Greatest Band Ever, a rock and pop cover band, at 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, the entertainment will begin at 2:30 p.m. with some children’s entertainment, Jeanie B! and the Jelly Beans children’s band, followed by the pop cover band Sorry for Partying at 4:30 p.m. The American Rockabilly band, Neverly Brothers, will play at 6:30 p.m. and Woodridge’s own Journey cover band, Infinity, will wrap up the evening at 8:30 p.m.

Several new activities, along with some annual favorites, will entertain all ages on Saturday from 12:00-5:00 p.m.  New this year is The Frog Lady Exhibit, the Colonial Café ice cream eating contest and a bean bag tournament benefiting the Special Olympics. Registration for the bean bag tournament costs $50 per team and will take place from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and the tournament will begin at 1:00 p.m. Returning activities include the Home Depot Kid’s Workshop, face painter, temporary tattoos, organization fair and inflatables. 

The fishing derby will take place from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 at Lake Harriet. The cost is $4 per person and each person must supply their own poles and bait.

The Woodridge Jubilee carnival will run from 6:00-10:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 6:00-10:30 p.m. on Friday, 12:00-10:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Carnival rides with unlimited rides wristbands are available for $20 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets and wristbands will be available for purchase at the Jubilee carnival only on the day of the event.

All events occur at the corner of Woodridge and Center Drives in Woodridge. Parking is available at the Town Centre and the Woodridge Park District Community Center. Overflow parking is in the grassy lot on Woodridge Drive, between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the Fire Station.
