The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the DuPage County area. The hazardous weather outlook for June 12 includes several rounds of thunderstorms, possibly resulting in very heavy rainfall, flooding, damaging winds in excess of 75 miles per hour and baseball size hail. The flash flood watch is in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, strong storms are expected to begin in western DuPage County at about 7 p.m., with heavy rain continuing until about midnight.

According to the Weather Service, the storms could affect the evening commute in the Chicago area. "Damaging winds, large hail, some tornadoes, and local flash flooding from brief heavy rainfall are all threats," according to the severe weather tracker page on Weather.com.
