5 Ways to Volunteer in Woodridge

1. Be a Parent Mentor with Project H.E.L.P.

Project H.E.L.P. desperately needs volunteers to mentor to Woodridge families.

Parents come forward voluntarily asking for help in improving their parenting skills and relationship with their children. You'll provide the education, training and support necessary to ensure parents have the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to raise healthy children.

2. Goodrich Looking for Crafters for Holiday Bazaar

Attention all crafters!

is looking for vendors for its holiday bazaar. You can have a space at the bazaar for $35 and the donation of a raffle item.

The holiday bazaar will take place on Nov. 5.

3. Pantry in Need of Food Staples

Help those in need have a hot dinner and a good lunch.

The needs donations of pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter and jelly.

Due to increased need in our community for telephone and driver volunteers we will hold two volunteer trainings at 1111 Warren Avenue in Downers Grove:

  • Saturday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. to noon
  • Monday, Oct. 24, 7 to 9 p.m.

5. Thank a Vet

The Woodridge Junior Woman's Club is collecting cards and letters to send to veterans and active duty military. You can make a card with supplies at the or drop one off during library business hours.

The cards and letters will be distributed to facilities serving local veterans of all wars as well as be included in packages being sent abroad through the collection for Operation Support Our Troops.

Cards and letters will be collected through Oct. 25.
