As Chicago gears up for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit at McCormick Place, Metra has stepped up security throughout its rail system, including the Southwest and Rock Island lines. From May 19 through May 21, riders will face security screenings and restrictions on what they can carry on to trains while global leaders are in town for the NATO summit, Metra announced Monday. Former Oswego High School language arts teacher and Woodridge resident Dale Fry says erectile dysfunction should have been part of original sexual abuse defense.
Dale Fry, the Oswego High School teacher convicted last year of sexually abusing a female student, testified in Kendall County court Wednesday that his battle with erectile dysfunction was a factor that was never brought forward in his trial and could have played a key role in his defense. In a post-trial hearing to determine whether Fry could receive a new trial with a new attorney, the Woodridge resident said he had been struggling with a decreased sexual drive, hypogonadism and erectile dysfunction since about 2000. Nicola Lostumbo, 18, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
Officials discovered a narcotic pill in the backpack of a Downers Grove South student May 7, according to Downers Grove police. Nicola Lostumbo, 18, of 507 61st Street in Westmont, was stopped with two other students for leaving campus and coming back, according to police. A search of his bag turned up a baggie with a small white pill inside labeled "alza36." The pill is a form of ADHD medication also known as "Concerta." It is listed as a narcotic and is highly abusive. Lostumbo was charged with one felony count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and transported to DuPage County Jail. A car was stolen at gunpoint around 10 p.m. Wednesday night in the parking lot near Kohl's, 1001 75th St., according to Woodridge police. A man wearing a Halloween mask pointed a handgun at a woman seated inside a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, according to a release. He ordered her out of the car at gunpoint, got in the car and drove away, police said. A witness to the robbery followed the stolen car and informed police of its whereabouts, according to reports. Police said they stopped the car near the Centerpointe Mall along Woodward Avenue and arrested a 31-year-old man from Coal City, who was still wearing the Halloween mask and had a loaded .45 caliber handgun in his possession. Local and state police removed a small working meth lab from a Woodridge apartment Wednesday night, according to officers. Woodridge police said they arrived at the Quarters in Woodridge apartment complex in the 8100 block of Route 53 around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to serve an arrest warrant for theft to Michael Dehlinger. The 22-year-old was taken into custody after attempting to flee and is being held on the arrest warrant at the DuPage County Jail, according to police. While on the scene, police said they discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia inside the apartment, including a small meth lab. I normally would play the race card and say its because of the nig nogs. Surprisingly the Kohl's robbery and Meth lab were normal looking people.
