Are coyotes a problem in Woodridge? The Chicago area has seen a significant increase in the coyote population since the 1990s, and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources estimates there are more than 30,000 coyotes in Illinois. We asked Woodridge residents via Facebook where they've spotted coyotes in town. Here's what one local had to say: Cheryl Thomas Wohead I live in Pleasantdale on the Frontage Rd between Woodward & Lemont Rd. We've been seeing them alot. Often there are 2 of them together. I regularly see them near Edgewood school roaming the streets, dusk and dawn. (Sometimes with a meal in mouth as they trot across the street!) I'm glad I don't have little dogs, and often wonder if coyotes are the reason my big dogs bark in the yard at night when nothing else is going on.   more ›
