Cheaper Gas? Dominick's and Mobil Create Rewards Program

Woodridge shoppers can save money at the pump using a new rewards points program.

Dominick’s and ExxonMobil have teamed up to provide shoppers a new way to save at the pump. According to a press release, Dominick’s shoppers and Mobil customers can now earn reward points for most products purchased at Dominick’s stores and redeem their points at participating Mobil locations. Tropical Storm Isaac Intensifies, Gas Prices Rise

AAA reported earlier this week drivers will likely see higher gas prices in the coming week.

As tropical storm Isaac intensified this week, threatening the Gulf Coast with significant storm surge and hurricane force winds, oil companies with refineries in Louisiana have started to evacuate employees and shut-down operations. The result has meant higher gasoline prices for drivers. AAA is reporting that it is likely drivers across the country will experience higher gas prices as a result of the tropical storm heading toward the Gulf Coast. Roughly 1.3 billion barrels a day or 8 percent of the country’s refining capacity was taken offline in preparation of Isaac making landfall in Louisiana, according to a story on the Wall Street Journal Monday. Gas Prices Skyrocket Due to Refinery Problems, Corn Prices

Officials with AAA report that gas prices will remain steady through August with a slight increase possible.

Record corn prices and refinery problems in Indiana and Illinois caused gas prices to spike at the end of July in the Chicago area and around the Midwest. The major price increase was the first since March and the largest July increase experienced since about 2000, according to AAA. The national average gas price increased 5.1 percent or 17 cents a gallon during the month of July.  Overall, prices were generally down during the month of July in the Chicago area, with gas prices averaging about $3.60 in the Chicago area, according to AAA Chicago. Well maybe we should now end the "Summer Blend" due to drought. These jerks seem to be able to fabricate any excuse to raise our Gas Prices. Sounds Criminal to me. Why is Illinois the highest priced nationally… B.S. That's Why!! It's funny, when I drove past the Citgo next to the Citgo refinery it actually had the highest price gas I've seen.
