Update: 6 Vehicle Burglaries on Westview, Suspect Charged

Police have a suspect in custody after a call to Geneva Street Thursday morning.

Update: William E. Hately, 18, of Woodridge was charged with one count of felony burglary, theft and criminal damage to property after allegedly committing a string of vehicle break-ins Wednesday night.  Deputy Chief Gina Grady told Patch that Hately is suspected of breaking in to six vehicles on Westview Lane. He will be transported to Dupage County Jail and is slated to appear in bond court either Thursday evening or Friday morning.   Police are asking residents to lock the doors of their vehicles to avoid similar crimes from occurring. "We think most [vehicles] were unlocked," said Gardy of this particular incident.
