The Oct. 31 incident is the third in a week.

Vandalism Reported Twice at Skate Park

The Janes Avenue skate park was vandalized twice last week, according to police.

Two instances of graffiti at the Janes Avenue Skate Park were reported last week.  Graffiti on a park bench was discovered around 8 a.m. on Oct. 24. Someone also marked the cement near the park shelter with paint between Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. and Oct. 27 at 7:30 a.m.  The last reported incidence of graffiti was last October, a month after the park had opened. Someone had scribbled in marker on some of the boards of the picnic tables and on one of the columns of the park shelter. Since the graffiti was in marker, it was easy to remove and did not take more than an hour's worth of labor to do so, according to Woodridge Park District executive director Mike Adams. The cost was $200.  The cost of last week's damage was not reported.

Not surprised! All you have to do is look at the hoodlums walking around in that area at any time/day of the week. They all go South from the Jewel down to the 7-11 down there. Gangsta city.   more ›
