Honor Memorial Day with a silent parade through Woodridge.
Honor those who have died in service to our country with a silent parade in Woodridge Monday morning. The parade will line up at Fire Station 2 of the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department at 8:30 a.m. and start at 9 a.m. It will then proceed north on Woodridge Drive, then east on Center Drive to Memorial Park Woodridge VFW Post 1578 and the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department are sponsoring the parade. The VFW post has invited all veterans, regardless of branch of service, age, or duty to march along. The parade will silent and solemn.

About 170 members of the band will explore and perform in London from Dec. 26 to Jan. 2.
Only six days remain until 167 members of the Downers Grove North High School marching band take off for London. That's most of the Trojan Marching Band, which is typically made up of 190 to 200 students, said North High Fine Arts Department Chair Brayer Teague. North was one of 10 American marching bands invited to perform in London's New Year's Day Parade and Festival. According to Teague, about 500,000 people are expected to watch the parade in person. About 220 million people are expected to watch the parade on television. Students, directors and chaperones will leave next Sunday for a week-long trip filled with sight-seeing and two major performances.
