Vote for one of the following (or write in your own candidate in the comments): Bolingbrook High School: Alec Boyd, senior guard on the boys basketball team. Boyd scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter during an overtime victory over Glenbard West. The loss was Glenbard West's first of the season. Boyd scored four quick points to spark an 8-0 run that forced overtime. He also made all four free throws in OT to help clinch the win. Boyd finished the game with 13 points total. Downers Grove South: Jerron Wilbut, who earned all-tournament honors at the Jack Tosh Holiday Tournament. Joe Stolfo - goalie for the Trojans,Lemont HS combined Hockey Club. Freshman at Lemont High School. One of 3 goalies appointed to the Blue All Star team. The Blue Team played the Red Team on Saturday 1/7/12. Though they lost 7-1. Senior goalie on the blue team allowed three goals in the first period. Vote for one of the following (or write in your own candidate in the comments): Bolingbrook High School: Varsity Cheerleading Squad. The Bolingbrook High School varsity cheerleading team qualified for the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association Cheerleading Championships Feb. 11 in Springfield, by winning the Bolingbrook Invitational earlier this month. Downers Grove South: Danny Spinuzza, sophomore point guard on the boys basketball team. DGS Coach Jay Baum called Spinuzza "the next coming of Bryan Mullins." The Raiders will play next at Nequa Valley on Wednesday. Bolingbrook Ousts Downers Grove South From Playoffs, Advances to Semifinals

Bolingbrook quarterback Aaron Bailey ran for five touchdowns and the Raiders defense shutdown a potent Mustangs offense for an IHSA 8A quarterfinals win.

For the second time in this year's playoffs, Bolingbrook wins without having a single passing yard. The Raiders (11-1) beat Downers Grove South 47-19 as junior quarterback Aaron Bailey pounded the Mustangs defense for 214 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Bolingbrook now advances to the state semifinals for the first time since 2001 and will face Naperville Central (9-3). Bolingbrook defeated Neuqua Valley without a completed pass in the first round of the IHSA 8A playoffs, where the Raiders rushed for 433 yards. This week, the Raiders upped the ante. “We were kind of messing up on the first series, but once we got focused and figured out what we’re doing, we were able to make some big holes,” said Bailey, whose team rushed for 494 yards…

Susan, I used to be. Youngest graduated several years ago, but hubby and I still attend a fair chunk of the games. The band used to stay for the entire game, play tunes during the breaks in the game, and the drums would set up on the track and play almost continually. She edged the runner-up by 13 seconds. Lemont High School: Victoria Salazar, freshman, runner: Salazar paced the Indians at the Class 2A state cross country meet with a 102nd-place finish in 19 minutes, 11 seconds. Bailey's second-straight nomination comes on the heels of his team's 33-14 win over Neuqua Valley in the first round of the playoffs.
