Retail Activity Gathering Momentum in Seven Bridges Development with New Owners

Aggressive marketing has brought new businesses, such as NUF frozen yogurt, Cherry Creek Mortage and Jam 'N Jelly Cafe, set to open in the fall.

The new owners of the Main Street at Seven Bridges and their marketing team have been working to bring new business to the development. And it looks like their efforts are paying off. Retail activity is gathering momentum at Seven Bridges, which was acquired in November 2011 by BROE Group and Starwood Capital. The companies hired Alter 360 to market the development. Alter 360 has been aggressively marketing the site, which has resulted in the attraction of NUF; a new frozen yogurt restaurant, Cherry Creek Mortgage and most recently Jam ‘N Jelly Café  which is expected to open this fall.  In addition to the new businesses, activity has remained strong  and Alter360 is currently negotiating with several restaurant operators and retail users …

Local MMA Fighters to Compete Thursday at Seven Bridges

Six of Downers Grove's CounterStrike MMA Academy's fighters will be on the 13 fight card.

On Thursday night around 7:30 p.m. at the Cinemark movie theater at Seven Bridges in Woodridge you can catch films Men in Black 3 or the The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Or you can walk around behind the theater and see an entirely different kind of entertainment. At Bobak's Signature Room Thursday night the United Combat League promotion will host a full night of mixed martial arts and Muay Thai kickboxing fights featuring six fighters who train out of CounterStrike MMA Academy on Ogden Avenue in Downers Grove. Ornamental Golfers Stolen from Seven Bridges Estates

Two of the logos, which measure 3 feet by 2 feet, were reported missing March 20.

If you're familar with Seven Bridges, you're familiar with its green ornamental golfer logo, such as the one pictured at Seven Bridges Golf Club.  Both of the complexes green ornamental golfer logos were reported stolen March 20 from the Seven Bridges Estates complex, according to Woodridge police.  The logos measure three feet tall by two feet wide and had been set against the red brick signs near the rear entrance of Seven Bridges Estates at Greene Road and Green Trails Drive.  The logos were noticed missing March 20, though it isn't clear when exactly they were taken, the Seven Bridges Estates Homeowners Association posted on its site.  There hasn't been any update since the theft was reported, according to Kate Andris, management …

Glimmer Salon Raises Almost $10,000

Glimmer Salon in Seven Bridges raised thousands during its "Glimmer of Hope" fundraiser Jan. 13.

Glimmer Salon in Seven Bridges raised more than $9,200 during its "Glimmer of Hope" fundraiser on Jan. 13.  It was the second annual fundraiser for the salon, which is located above Starbucks in Seven Bridges at 3520 Seven Bridges Dr. #235.  About 125 people attended the event, according to Glimmer Co-Owner Sandy Robertson. All proceeds will benefit Derrick Wanderer, a 15-year-old who suffered major brain injuries after a car accident on June 13, 2011. Wanderer is the Robertson's nephew.  After being thrown from a car and hitting a tree, Wanderer was hospitalized with several broken bones and completed rehab at Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He returned home De. 27 but is confined to a wheelchair and will require daily therapy and …

Woodridge Brings Back Tree Lighting Friday

Join the Woodridge community in the Seven Bridges development Friday at 6 p.m. for a Santa sighting, refreshments, carols and the tree lighting.

A holiday tradition will once again take place in Woodridge.  Woodridge's Holiday Tree Lighting will take place Friday at 6 p.m. in the Seven Bridges development. The Jefferson Jr. High School choir will sing, Santa will appear and you'll be able to enjoy cookies and hot cocoa.  The tree lighting had been a village tradition until a few years ago, when it was cut because of budget restraints, according to Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce President Amy Melinder.  It formerly took place in the Towne Center, put on by the Woodridge Special Events Committee with the support of the village. Woman Charged with Endangering Her Children Pleads Not Guilty

Sunitha Budithi, 38, of Woodridge, allegedly left her kids to move her car when a fire broke out in her apartment.

A Woodridge woman charged with endangering the lives of her children plead not guilty at a status hearing Tuesday.  Sunitha Budithi, 38, allegedly left her two children alone when she went to move her car in the parking lot of the apartment complex in the 6600 block of Double Eagle Drive. While she was out, an unattended open flame in a closet being used as a shrine started a fire in the apartment.  The two children were found by first responders of the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Department in the apartment and rescued. They were taken to Edward Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation. Both children are younger than 10, according to Kate Croteau, management analyst for the Woodridge Police Department. Area businesses offer tricks and treats to Woodridge kids.

Hundreds of princesses, ghosts, monsters and witches gathered together to sip apple cider, jump in a bouncy house and enjoy face painting and balloon animals at the Safe Zone Trick or Treating at Seven Bridges on Friday. The event was sponsored by the Woodridge Chamber of Commerce. Businesses opened their doors and treated kids to cauldrons full of candy and other treats. The Woodridge Police and Fire Departments handing out their own ghoulish goodies.
