Police Investigating Shots Fired in Air Near Madison Junior High Tuesday

Police are searching for more information regarding shots being fired near a Naperville school Tuesday.

Naperville Police are investigating reports of shots being fired in the air near Madison Junior High School in east Naperville. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Fairoak Road and River Oak Drives, west of the school, which is located at 1000 River Oak Dr. Police responded to the area after reports of shots being fired in the air from a white, late-model Chevrolet pickup truck, according to the Naperville Police Department. Police said several witnesses saw a white, younger male adult fire three shots in the air from a black handgun, according to the police department. Woodridge Police Investigating Gunshots Fired Along Janes Avenue

Witnesses said a shot had been fired into the air after an argument broke out between two groups of people, according to reports. Police said they soon after found a suspicious car near Natural Falls apartments and detained the vehicle's occupants.

The Woodridge Police Department is investigating an incident in which gunshots were fired Wednesday night in the 8000 block of Janes Avenue. Police said they responded to the area around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses said a shot had been fired into the air after an argument broke out between two groups of people, according to reports. They soon after found a suspicious car nearby around Natural Falls apartment complex and detained the vehicle's occupants for investigation, according to reports. So far, 20-year-old Denzel Griffin, of the 1700 block of Sierra Trail in Romeoville, has been charged with possession of marijuana, but police say they expect additional charges will be filed in connection with the incident. Kary, if you stay north of 75th and west of 355, the schools are much better k-12. Anywhere north of 75th is generally fine. Issues raised in this comment section are centered the large apartment complexes on the south end of town. Any Woodridge cop will tell you that part of town is where the majority of the calls are.   more ›
