Woodridge Police Arrest 94 for DUI, Speeding and More During Holiday Crackdown

Local law enforcement made more than 90 arrests over the holidays during a crackdown that targeted impaired drivers.

As many of us were opening gifts, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the holidays, Village of Woodridge law enforcement officers were on the streets cracking down on impaired drivers to make local roadways safer.  According to a spokesperson for the Woodridge Police Department, between Dec. 17, 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013, officers issued 89 citations to drivers for traffic-related offenses such as speeding, no seatbelts and no insurance and made four arrests for DUI. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign increased police patrols during the special enforcement period. During the late night hours from midnight to 6 a.m., additional patrols are deployed to monitor for impaired drivers.
