who was diagnosed in 2012 with Myasthenia Gravis, a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disorder. It causes fluctuating weakness of the voluntary muscle groups, and can affect muscles that control eye movements, eyelids, chewing, swallowing, coughing, and facial expressions as well as the arms and legs. MG can also affect breathing.

Mae's family and friends formed Team HawineGirl to walk on her behalf at the 2013 MG Walk in Naperville. A Fundraiser Event benefiting Team HawineGirl for the MG Walk will be held on September 15 from 11am-4pm with a Fashion Show at 2pm featuring fashions by TBS Events. Enjoy a fun-filled day of shopping, fashion and raffles while supporting a great cause and a great person.
